President’s Report
Ron Dunlap
We have just completed another successful state-wide television ad
campaign promoting both the manufactured and modular housing
industry. The ads ran the last three weeks in May on six
television stations throughout Virginia. The response from the
membership and the buying public was excellent. As of this
writing more than 550 consumers have called the 800 number requesting
additional information and listings of retailers and builders in their
area. That information is currently being sent out to them and a
complete listing of those who called in will be sent to every retailer
and builder member in Virginia.
In addition to the calls to the 800 number, we have had more than 7,206
visits to our VAMMHA.org Home Page (700% increase over April
2006). These hits were collecting additional information about
the manufactured and modular housing industry in Virginia.
For those of you that didn’t see the ad, it consisted of a series of 5
photos (all pictures were of homes sited in Virginia) starting with an
attractive single-section manufactured home and going to a
multi-story modular home showing the total size and price span of
the homes we produce and sell. Each picture had a brief
description, such as (great starter home, Elegant, etc.) and was
followed by, “Manufactured and Modular Housing – A Home For All
Reasons.”
We have also picked up several new members to VAMMHA. These are
builders and modular retailers that saw the ad campaign and called the
office wanting to participate.
As you know, the TV ad campaign runs every other year and is paid for
by a portion of the manufacturer’s shipment dues going into a special
account to finance the campaign.
